Research interests

  • general and applied botany
  • climate change
  • global change ecology
  • biodiversity & agrobiodiversity
  • seed ecology
  • forest, alpine vegetation, grasslands, agroecosystems

I am particularly interested in the effects of global change (climate change, land-use change, pollution, invasive species) on plants in ecosystems such as forests, alpine vegetation, grasslands, and agroecosystems. To answer questions in connection to plant population biology, botany and ecology and global change themes, we use:

  • observational studies
  • experimental approaches
  • large databases
  • modelling

Research methods

  • latitudinal and elevational gradients
  • experimental warming in the field (e.g. open-top chambers, infrared heaters, soil heating)
  • microclimate sensors
