Bio

Hao Li

I am currently a PhD candidate at the Laboratory of Hydrology and Water Management in the Hydrology and Climate team of Ghent University. In 2020, I obtained my Master’s degree in China Agricultural University with a major in Hydrology and Water Resources. In my master thesis, I investigated the spatiotemporal patterns of water yield in the Upper Brahmaputra River basin, and applied the Budyko framework and random forest model to identify the importance of vegetation recovery in water yield changes. These experiences invoked my interest in the interplay among climate, water, and land use. In the future, I will focus on the effects of land use changes on precipitation recycling and water yield in the downwind watersheds.
