(30-03-2022) An intercultural debate on food losses and food waste

On March 24 an intercultural and international debate concerning food losses and food
waste has been organised by the Department of Food Technology, Safety and Health.
The debate was opened by Katrien Verbeke, founder of “Let Us” and
coordinator of the urban food policy “Gent en Garde”. She explained issues
related to food losses and food waste and share her experience in finding
solutions to increase food systems’ sustainability.
Following this introduction, students discussed different scenarios and presented solutions in a short pitch to the audience.
At the same time they have put theory into practice by enjoying foods saved from supermarkets, too good to go, etc...
