Students Meet Food Industry

(26-10-2022) 3rd bachelor students Chemistry and Food Technology visited Ardo N.V., in the framework of the course Food Microbiology and Food Preservation.

Our 3rd bachelor students Chemistry and Food Technology visited Ardo N.V., a producer of fresh frozen vegetables, herbs, and fruits, in the framework of the course Food Microbiology and Food Preservation. During this company visit, they had a very first look ‘behind the scenes’ of the food industry and got to know the possibilities for their future career as a bioscience engineer.

Visiting the processing environment, students learned about the different aspects involved in food processing and the importance of microbiological food quality and safety. Afterwards, there was room for an informal talk between students and employees to discuss about the future and to gain ideas on the role of a bioscience engineer in the food industry.

A very successful excursion and educational experience!
