I am a recently graduated Italian student in Food Science and Technology Master Course at Università degli Studi di Milano. During my studies, I acquired knowledge in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Technology, Microbiology, Food Packaging and Human Nutrition. I carried out two thesis, a Bachelor and a Master degree thesis, respectively entitled “Shelf life and microbiology hazards evaluation of raw food and semi-finished products for pizza” and “Determination and quantification of photoinitiators from printing inks in bibs”.

Title of research: Risk prioritisation and development of multi method for analysis of migrating components from glues and inks (ROMIL project).

Migration of chemical compounds from food contact materials, such as packaging materials, and from applied glues, varnish and printing inks may happen and may lead to a food safety problem. The purpose of this project is the development of multi-methods for the analysis of migrating compounds from food contact materials into food products. Furthermore, a risk assessment towards impact on human health will be calculated to allow a preparatory basis for further risk management strategies and to enhance food contact materials safety.
