A new semester, a new datacafé! The concept remains the same; an informal event where 3 researchers openly share experiences after which we can all engage in discussion with a beer (or any other drink) in hand.

In this edition we’ll find out how research groups organize- and manage their communal data in a way it’s findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable for all members and research purposes. How do they make sure everybody is able to access the (relevant) data? What storage platforms do they use? How to make sure everybody is using the same documentation standards and conventions?

We’ll have three speakers from different fields of research who’ll introduce us into how their groups practically manage their data:

  • Elke Evrard (Human Rights Centre)
  • Laure De Cock (Cartography and GIS)
  • Pieter Fiers (Movement and Sports Sciences)

Practical information

  • Thursday November 24 2022
  • 16h00 – 18h30
  • In the Boekentoren – Van de Velde-zaal

Registrations start on October 28 (at noon) using the link below, which also holds more information and a short bio of our 3 excellent speakers. Seats are limited!
