Dr. Olga Burlyuk is a Post-Doctoral Assistant at the Centre for EU Studies. She holds a PhD in International Relations from the University of Kent (UK). Her doctoral dissertation focused on the European Union’s rule of law promotion policy in Ukraine. Previously, she obtained an MA in European Studies from the University of Maastricht (NL) and a Specialist in Law from the National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” (UA).

Olga’s research interests lay in the sphere of EU external relations, in particular its efforts to transform third states and their societies through the promotion of democracy, the rule of law and human rights, as well as trade and development cooperation. The (Eastern) European neighbourhood and Ukraine in particular is her area of specialisation. Olga teaches a specialised MA course on EU Migration Policy and supervises a number of BA and MA dissertations on the subject.
