Research themes: Borders, migration governance and people on the move

Rossella Marino is a PhD student at the Department of Social Work and Social Pedagogy, Ugent, and PhD fellow at UNU-CRIS, Bruges, Belgium. She has conducted extensive ethnographic research in the context of her doctoral project. Before joining Ugent and UNU-CRIS, Rossella has been a research intern at both UNU-CRIS and the Institute for European Studies (IES) of Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium. She got her Master's degree in International and European Studies from the University of Trento, Italy, and her Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Naples, Italy. She also studied at Roskilde University, Denmark, in the context of the Erasmus programme. Alongside her involvement in research, Rossella has volunteered for non-governmental organisations dealing with migrants and asylum seekers.
