Prof. Dirk De Bacquer

Introduction

Dirk De Bacquer is a Senior Full Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, specifically in the Department of Public Health and Primary Care. He completed his PhD in Medical Sciences and has since established himself as an expert in cardiovascular epidemiology and prevention. His research encompasses a wide range of topics including the epidemiology of chronic diseases, risk factor management, and the socio-economic disparities in health outcomes. He is involved in several prominent international projects such as the EUROASPIRE studies, WHO CVD Risk projects, the NCD Risk Factor Collaboration, the INTERASPIRE, the MONICA project and the SCORE Risk group. He has a longstanding close collaboration with the Imperial College London, the Karolinska Institute and the University of Galway.
