Corrosion casting: leading a tradition to a new era

PhD research: Pablo Reyes Isaacura

Collaborator for educational specimens: dr. Christophe CasteleynSteps involving creating new material

Vascular corrosion casting is one of the hallmarks of the anatomical and microanatomical research performed at the department of Morphology and of its services offered to other research groups. The present investigations not only focus on the unravelling of the fine three-dimensional angioarchitecture in both anatomical and embryological specimens.

As a part of a larger concerted research action with partners from the faculty of engineering and architecture and the faculty of bio-engineering,   the development of new, affordable, versatile and reliable casting media is currently also undertaken.
