Processing and preservation of whale cadavers

In additional to its standard skeleton processing activities, over the recent years, the department of Morphology has gathered the technically more challenging expertise in the successful processing of cadavers of large cetaceans and the preparation of fully articulated skeletons of these mastodons of the seas. The further optimisation of the procedures for the cleaning and preservation of whale skeletal elements is part of ongoing investigations.
