Description

Many doctoral researchers find it difficult to share their career aspirations. When introducing themselves they refer to what they do.

I do research into neurodegenerative diseases

When connecting to others you will raise more impact when you tell them why you do the work that you do.

I am really passionate to understand and combat Alzheimer. Alzheimer is predicted to affect 1 in 85 people globally by 2050. I would love to be involved in future drug development programs.

In this training we will help you to discover your career aspirations. This is essential for building effective professional relations and creating a consistent personal brand. We will do this by using the tools of LEGO® Serious Play™.

The LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® Method is a structured process where participants follow the series of steps to think, build, tell a story, reflect and refine.
The use of LEGO® bricks simply enables you to take a speedy shortcut to the core. The bricks work as a catalyst – and when used for building metaphors, they trigger processes that you were previously unaware of.

Aim

Participants come away with skills to communicate more effectively, to engage their imaginations more readily, and to approach their work with increased confidence, commitment and insight.

In this one-day training you will:

  • gain insight in your career aspirations,
  • learn to build and practice an attractive elevator pitch,
  • gain insights in your networks,
  • have practiced the principles of networking,
  • discover how to use informational interviews to learn about job content and develop new professional relations,
  • learn how to use social media to create a consistent personal brand.
