Cluster Career management for all participants + cluster Leadership and personal efficiency for PhD students selected to go to Viêt Nam + cluster Communication skills for PhD students whose final reports are positively evaluated by the provincial authorities of East Flanders.

PhD students participating in the boot camp from start to finish (equalling 3 seminars in transferable skills) are exempt from further transferable skills training.

Members of the Doctoral School of (Bioscience) Engineering

Level

Applicants should already have some strong qualitative and communication skills as well as solid, usable experience in one of the following domains: plant production, crop protection, soil science, rural economy in development countries.

Content

The second edition of the PhD boot camp, commissioned by the provincial authorities of East Flanders, intends to propel multitalented bioscience engineering PhD students into exciting professional territory in Lâm Đồng, Việt Nam. The provincial authorities of East Flanders look for 3 motivated and execution-driven PhD students to monitor their Vietnamese projects.

All applicants will receive an introduction to professional consulting and intercultural skills, after which they will submit a competitive quotation to the provincial authorities of East Flanders. The latter will select from among the participants 3 qualified PhD students to be sent as consultants to Việt Nam in the course of 2016 for 2 workweeks.
