Bert Gellynck is assistant-professor at the department Architecture and Urbanism of the Ghent University since 2007. He studied architecture (St. Lucas Gent, 1999) and urbanism & spatial planning (KU Leuven, 2005) .

At the university of Ghent, he is active as supervisor and mentor of various design studios. His interest is primarily oriented towards architecture and urban design. In 2012-13 he was also a Visiting Professor at the "faculty of Architecture and Design" RISEBA in Riga (Latvia), where he supervised the design studio of the 1st bachelor Architecture.

Bert Gellynck is also co-founder (with Nadia Casabella) of the Brussels based architecture office 1010 [ten-ten], patiently developing an oeuvre on various scales. 1010 is convinced that architecture can (re)form the city, and that the urban field is the breeding ground for a genuine architecture.
