Biography
Sarah Lima Paralovo (°1991) graduated as an Environmental Engineer in 2014 at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR, Brazil). During her graduation, she has done research in the field of indoor air quality, but then migrated to research on ambient air quality in the Amazon region. Her graduation thesis is entitled "Quantification of gaseous pollutants at the Amazon forest, at the semi-rural area of Manacapuru, AM and at the city of Manaus, AM". In 2016 she earned a Master’s degree in the Environmental Engineering Graduate Program (PPGEA), also in UFPR (Brazil), with a dissertation entitled “Analysis of gaseous pollutants and fine particulate matter at Manacapuru, AM". Since September 2017 she has been working as a PhD student in UGent at the Architecture & Urban Planning Faculty of Engineering & Architecture, in collaboration with the Vlaamse Instelling voor Technologisch Onderzoek (VITO). Her project aims to propose a new tracer gas method to measure ventilations rates, which will be entirely passive and connected to common indoo air quality assessments.
