From 24 to 25th of May, DS²BE was organized by Prof. Marijke Steeman from the Building Physics research group in Het Pand in Ghent.

DS²BE (short for Doctoral Seminars on Sustainability Research in the Built Environment)  is a joint initiative of research groups working on sustainability issues at eight Belgian universities: Université libre de Bruxelles, Vrije Universiteit Brussel, KU Leuven, UCLouvain, Université de Liège, UHasselt, UAntwerpen and UGent.

Central theme of this year's edition was 'Renovating the Building Stock'.

We were happy to welcome over 30 research presentations, as well as two keynote presentations by Prof. Ian Hamilton (UCL) and Prof. Johan Albrecht (UGent), workshops and a social program.

We can look back at a successful and inspiring event.
