Within the open call circular economy of "Vlaanderen Circulair" three research projects have been approved in which the Building Physics research group is contributing.

The research project "EURECA - Effectively Upscaling the Renovation of Envelopes with a Circular Approach" will develop a circular and modular façade renovation system that allows to renovate existing buildings in a fast and circular way.

The aim of "Circular construction: the mobile unit" is developing a mobile demonstration unit that provides insight in circular building solutions that can serve as an alternative to typical construction methods. The mobile unit will be used as a demo-case for architects, contractors, etc.

"Mobble on the move" aims to develop a market ready modular and ecological building system that makes healthy living and working accessible to everyone. This circular buildings system builds on the project "The Mobble" with which Ghent University successfully participated in the 2019 Solar Decathlon competition.
