An adapted outdoor space is essential for children and students with autism. Many people know that over-stimulation is a concern, but often there is also a problem with under-stimulation, also called hypersensitivity. But how can you design an outdoor space and furniture that at the same time offers tranquillity but can also stimulate?

Students Engineer-Architect of Ghent University worked together with specialists on autism, the city of Ghent and the team of Kwadrant. Thanks to Decomo and FEBE, 3 designs were realised and are now in use.
