IWT Proeftuin renovation Research and development project

IWT Proeftuin woningrenovatie Onderzoeks- en ontwikkelingsproject

The purpose of the Proeftuin is to stimulate scalable and reproducible renovation concepts in order to obtain affordable building solutions. Research is being carried out on the basis of real renovation projects. The research group Building Physics is a partner in three Proeftuin projects.

The project the Schipjes (Bruges) aims to stimulate energy optimization in renovation of historic communities. The 2nd Proeftuin project will acquire the necessary insights, on the basis of the Kielparktorens (Antwerp), in order to achieve more (cost) optimal energy efficient residential blocks. The 3rd Proeftuin project Drie Hofsteden (Courtrai) aims to develop solutions for the renovation of social condominiums to Nearly Zero-Energy Building standard.

The research group Building Physics is working on these projects with OCMW Bruges, De Schakelaar, Studiebureau Boydens, KU Leuven, Viessmann-Belgium, Microtherm, Bureau Bouwtechniek, Woonhaven, Goedkope woning and BUROII & ARCH+I.
