Best PlanDag Paper Award 2025

Our paper "Where can Inclusive Neighbourhood Energy Transitions Land? Mapping Boundary Spaces in Ghent, Belgium (Lena Verlooy, Laura Shllaku and Tim Devos)" was awarded the PlanDag Prize for Best Paper Contribution!

In this paper, we explore how energy transitions can become more inclusive, especially in underprivileged urban neighbourhoods. We introduce the concept of boundary spaces – places that support the democratisation of energy transitions at the neighbourhood level. These are spaces where residents, experts, and policymakers come together, fostering knowledge exchange and enabling experimentation and engagement across boundaries.
