(16-03-2018) During Take Five@UGent on 22 March, the annual Ghent University awards for education, research and public services, honor staff members who are an example of the great dedication to be found at Ghent University.

Lieven Eeckhout (CSL) and Steve Stevens from Durf Ondernemen! (DO!), with Koen De Bosschere (CSL) as the founder of DO!, received a UGent award.

Prof. dr. Lieven Eeckhout (Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Department of Electronics and Information Systems) was chosen because of his exceptional track record in research (he is one of the youngest scientists with two ERC grants to his name). In addition, he excels with a clear vision of the leadership of his research group and the supervision of researchers.

Prof. dr. Koen De Bosschere, as the founder of the Durf Ondernemen! (DO!) project at Ghent University, was proud to see that the DO!-team received the Hermes award for scientific and social services. Steve Stevens and the DO! Team  were chosen because of the extraordinary enthusiasm with which they shape, support and expand student entrepreneurship - a success story for Ghent University and the city.  Both the Executive Board and the students are particularly enthusiastic about the energy that Steve and his team put into their mission.
