Jonathan Berte has won the AIG Engineer of The Year 2019 Award

(24-04-2019) Jonathan Berte was proclaimed as AIG Engineer of the Year 2019 at De Krook on 24 April by the AIG alumni association and the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Ghent University.

Engineer Jonathan Berte was one of the 18 nominees and received the prize from the hands of the Dean, Patrick De Baets. The theme of the event was “Digital Innovation”.

Deep Learning

Jonathan is the co-founder and CEO of Robovision. He leads a team of over 40 Deep Learning enthusiasts. Together with the Robovision team he developed a platform to apply AI, and more specifically Deep Learning, to visual data. This platform allows companies in all kinds of industries to apply deep learning to their own data, without the need to hire data scientists. Jonathan won the AIG Engineer of the Year 2019 because of this innovative and disruptive platform.

The Alumni Association AIG (Alumni Engineers UGent) and the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture grant the AIG Engineer of the Year Award to a deserving alumnus or alumna who recently realized an important innovation or achievement in his / her company or institution and / or made a significant social contribution.
