Official start consortium Machineries & Factories from 1 May

(18-04-2018) Through this valorisation consortium many colleagues from the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture will be assisted in their interactions with the industry and the valorisation of their research.

In December 2017, the IOF Council of Ghent University approved 3 new IOF consortia, including Machineries & Factories (M & F)

Three areas of expertise

This consortium brings together three areas of expertise (i) electromechanical engineering, (ii) industrial systems engineering, and (iii) digital engineering. This allows us to innovate and realize added value with regard to 'smart motion products' and 'smart production systems' in an industry 4.0 context.

A number of the researchers in M & F are also active in Flanders Make and imec. The appointment of Jeroen De Maeyer as business developer as of 1 May means the official start of this consortium.
