TechBoost! to 6th edition: from molecule to process and product

(03-04-2018) TechBoost! is due for his 6th edition on Thursday May 3 2018. TechBoost! boosts your technical knowledge with a lesson from an expert about a current relevant theme.

From molecule to process and product

This year also promises to be a very interesting edition with the theme "FROM MOLECULE TO PROCESS AND PRODUCT - Discover how engineers make large-scale use of chemistry for the sustainable solution of the challenges of our time".

Prof. dr. Guy Marin, world authority in the field of chemical reaction technology, gives the TechBoost! 2018 lesson. In his lesson he will briefly outline the basic principles of chemical reaction technology and explain some applications. These range from the design of chemical reactors to the direction of the development of new materials in general and catalysts and polymers in particular.

The main focus will be on contributions from the Laboratory for Chemical Technology (LCT) to possible technical solutions for global climate change. The expertise of the LCT in the field of sustainable chemistry (replacement of fossil fuels with renewable raw materials and the (re)use of waste materials including CO2) is recognized worldwide.

Supporting programme

This year there will also be a supporting programme, in which a number of expert speakers will explain a specific aspect of chemical processes. Both academic and industrial speakers will be discussed.

Reception with demos

During the reception at the UFO, various experiments on the theme are shown, you can meet fellow engineers, professors and researchers from the departments of our faculty, you can make new contacts and strengthen existing contacts! Following the previous editions, we expect 500+ participants!
