Two grants for the discovery of new technologies to transform waste CO2 into value-added chemicals

Prof. Mark Saeys, Dr. César A. Urbina-Blanco and Dr. Vladimir Galvita (Department of Materials, Textiles and Chemical Engineering) were awarded two grants for the discovery of new technologies to transform waste CO2 into value-added chemicals in collaboration with several Flemish institutions.

The CATCO2RE project (2.5 million euro) funded by the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO is a joint venture between UGent, KULeuven, VUB and VITO), while CO2PERATE (2.6 million euro) funded by the Agentschap Innoveren en Ondernemen (VLAIO) is a collaboration between UGent, UAntwerp, KULeuven, VITO, and the Bio Base Europa Pilot Plant.
