IOF-StarTT-project: Exoligamentz (2017 - 2018)

Development and testing of an innovative sports glove prototype for the prevention of finger and hand injuries

(15/04/2017 – 14/10/2018)

Gripping is a vital aspect in combat sports such as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, judo, grappling, and in many ball sports. However, it often leads to finger and hand injuries caused by abnormal motion of the joints. The common taping approach has various limitations and requires an alternative solution. Therefore, studententrepreneur Ashkan M.H. Joshghani designed a unique sports glove, which is being further developed together with UGent and Victoris.

The project can be summarized as:

Exoligamentz

The glove has to be time-saving, allow unrestricted movement and offer joint protection. At the moment a prototyping is under development, which will be followed by extensive testing and validation.
