We are pleased to invite you to participate to the initial meeting of the Climate Change and Energy Science of Materials (CChESMate) network.

This network brings together researchers from the U-Lille, Ghent University, University of Kent and KU Leuven with interests in materials science for tackling ongoing society challenges of climate change and clean energy. The event is hold under the umbrella of the newly established 3i University Network, and its aim is to spark new collaborations among scientists of the four universities involved. We will have a strong line-up of speakers from all four universities:

Anticipated session topics include:
• Advanced Characterization and Simulation of Materials
• Decarbonised Energy
• Biomass
• Batteries and related energy storage
• Environmental Remediation
• Fuel cell
• Solar Energy and light to chemical energy conversion

A special session will be dedicated to the presentation of cross-border funding schemes. The meeting will be held at the University of Lille on the 17th and 18th of February 2022. The registration is free but mandatory. To participate and submit your contribution just send the registration form to the organizers before the 15th of January 2022. A limited number of financial supports for students and post doc will be available upon request. We encourage researchers from all four partners institutions to attend the meeting to enhance interactions and collaborative research on climate change and clean energy. In this spirit, the meeting will prioritize time for both discussions during formal sessions and opportunities for networking outside of this. Visits of the research groups and facilities of the host-institution (U-Lille) will be organized.
