library services

Our services:

- The scanning service will be continued. You can - directly from the lib.ugent.be catalogue - submit a scan request for a magazine article or a chapter from a book.

-You can submit an online request to borrow a book. (Architecture collection, TW01) directly from the lib.ugent.be catalogue ('have it ready for loan/prepare for loan').
We prepare the book for you on the book trolley in the entrance of the library. You can pick it up during opening hours.

- ibl requests are handled (articles and books).

- Consultation of the collection:

Take a label with the serial number of the notice board in the entrance area and report to the desk.
When you leave the library, return the label.
The number of simultaneous visitors admitted to the library is limited to 15.
We would like to give everyone the opportunity to come and borrow books, which is why a visit is limited to the duration of 1 hour.
There is no PC available for consultation of the catalogue.
You will have access to the shelves. Books and magazines can be consulted at a predestined location at the reading room tables.
There are 12 reading areas in the Large Reading Room and 3 reading areas in the Silent Reading Room.
Before entering the library it is compulsory to disinfect your hands.
During your visit you should keep a distance of 1.5m to other visitors and staff present and it is compulsory to wear a mouth mask.

- Books can be borrowed at the desk.
(for those not directly requested through the catalogue, if on loan, exclusive of the Bekaert collection).
Books can be returned without entering the library.
There is - during opening hours - a box in the entrance hall in which you can deposit books.

- The use of the reading room as a block location remains suspended.

- Opening hours:  Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
