High-Throughput Units

Two High-Throughput set-ups are available at the Laboratory for Chemical Technology. The first set-up is labeled as ‘High-Throughput Kinetic Screening’ (HTK-S) set-up and the second as ‘High-Throughput Mechanistic Investigation’ (HTK-MI) set-up. Both are employed in the search for more efficient heterogeneous catalysts through ‘Information Driven Catalyst Design’. Typically, refining processes are investigated but due to the shift to renewable hydrocarbon sources also the field of ‘green’ chemistry is covered. The HTK-S set-up enables rapid screening of small catalyst quantities while the HTK-MI set-up is used for a more in-depth study of the mechanism and kinetics under a broad range of reaction conditions.
