Dosimetry Lab

Assessing the absorption near a base station antenna using a rectangular standard CENELEC phantom. The phantom represents worker near base station antenna. A 3D robot system measures absorption with an SAR probe within the liquid in the phantom.

Exposure guidelines and standards have been issued in order to limit the absorbed electromagnetic power, generated by a wireless device, in human body tissue. The Wireless and Cable group has built up a great expertise in the assessment of the electromagnetic energy in lossy tissue. The test lab is equipped with a DASY measurement system which enables the measurements of fields in free-space as well as in lossy liquids or human head phantoms. The setup accommodates evaluation of head absorption and comparison with international exposure guidelines such as ICNIRP and FCC.
