Public PhD defense of Luchuan Ding scheduled for Tuesday 14 December

Luchuan Ding will defend his doctoral dissertation entitled ‘Quantitative Assessment of Reinforced Concrete Buildings Subjected to Column Removal Scenarios Taking into Account Dynamic Response Behaviour’ on Tuesday 14th of December at 17:00 CET (Auditorium Rudolf E. Richter, building 131 Volta, ground floor, Technologiepark Zwijnaarde 131, 9052 Zwijnaarde; streaming available). Luchuan's thesis aims at quantitatively evaluating structural robustness, taking into account dynamic response behaviour. The dissertation includes (i) an evaluation of the performance of the energy-based method, (ii) the development of efficient dynamic analysis approaches for reliability and robustness assessments, and (iii) the investigation of progressive collapse behaviour of deteriorated RC building structures. Luchuan completed his dissertation under the supervision of Prof. Robby Caspeele and Prof. Ruben Van Coile.
