Professor Stijn Baert receives the Rotary Science Award

Each year, the Rotary Science Award (ROSA) is presented to a scientific project that is linked to the fight against poverty. The prize has a monetary value of 10,000 euros.

Professor Stijn Baert receives this year's ROSA award for his research on labour market discrimination. Rotary Club Ghent calls this research “of very great social importance” and praises that Professor Baert links these results to concrete recommendations to reduce the problem of discrimination, such as practical tests at sector level, a policy proposal that was adopted in the political agreement of, among others, the City of Antwerp and the City of Ghent. In this way, according to the organisation, Professor Baert links a high scientific impact to a high social impact.
