Ana about her experience at the FEB

‘My ambition is to find a job in a slavic financial institution. I see economics as a tool to make life better for everyone. Not only through academia, but also through macro institutions.
I had an Erasmus experience at the faculty of Economics and Business Administration. Professor Heylen afterwards convinced me to get my master in Economics. I like the city of Ghent a lot: it is very clean, safe and nice. Very enjoyable to live in. It is very handy that everyone speaks English. People have a soul and are articulated. In the beginning I thought Belgians were a bit closed. It was difficult to hang out with them as an international student. As an Erasmus student my experience was entirely different.
The theoretical courses here are well-structured and go together very well. It was demanding, but manageable and totally worth it. The professors were very approachable. Professor Everaert for exemple replied within 20 minutes. They want to help you and make you feel better. It was a great experience for me. The international relations administrator at my home university gave me the advice I should go to Ghent, not to Paris. I had blind faith and did not regret my choice.’
