Specific course requirements

To participate in the course, the following is required: 

•  a good command of the English language

•  an introductory knowledge of mathematics and statistics, specifically topics such as: function analysis (extreme values …), limits and continuity,            derivatives and integrals, linear algebra and basic matrix algebra, multivariate functions, basic optimisation, extrema, difference equations.

 

  • Your presence during the course is not strictly required but highly recommended. The focus of the courses is not only on understanding specific mathematical methods, but also on applying them to concrete economic problems/issues.

 

  • The lecture notes can be bought from the lecturer during the first/second lecture. Students should register on Minerva before the start of the course to obtain the supplementary study material (exercises) and follow the announcements before each lesson.

 

  • The evaluation consists of a traditional written examination.
