Honorary doctorate Olivier Blanchard

On July 3, 2017 Ghent University awards an Honorary Doctorate to Professor Olivier Blanchard (MIT, Peterson Institute for International Economics). On this occasion the Macroeconomics, Policy and Econometrics Research Group of Ghent University organizes a one-day macroeconomics workshop. The workshop brings together recent work on “macroeconomic policy, the business cycle, and employment and growth” done in our research group and by other Belgian and international researchers.

Workshop venue

The workshop will be followed at 5.30 pm by the academic session and ceremony with the awarding of the honorary doctorate in the Aula Academica of Ghent University and a ceremonial lecture by Olivier Blanchard on the current state of and challenges for advanced economies.
