Jorma J. Palvimo (Institute of Biomedicine, UEF, Kuopio, Finland) will show his recent work on androgen and pro-inflammatory signaling

The androgen receptor is a male sex steroid-activated transcription factor that plays a critical role in normal male physiology and in the pathology of prostate cancers, including castration-resistant prostate cancers. Hormone binding to these steroid receptors leads to DNA binding and activation or repression of their target genes with the aid of interacting proteins, coregulators. Here, we studied the interplay between pro-inflammatory and androgen signaling using unbiased genome-wide (GRO-seq and ChIP-seq) analyses. Proteome-wide analyses (BioID method) were used for mapping the androgen receptor's coregulator landscape. These results and potentially multifaceted functions and roles of androgen receptor coregulators will be discussed.
