Belgian Symposium on Tissue Engineering 2018 is an international symposium, focusing on tissue engineering and regenerative medicine

BSTE18 will focus on key challenges in tissue engineering strategies independent of the tissue type targeted and in the framework of health and disease models.
The ultimate goal of tissue engineering is to replace diseased or lost organs by engineered functional organs, but since a few years tissue engineering has also become a promising tool as in vitro models for drug screening and disease modelling.
However, multiple challenges remain to be addressed to produce tissue engineered products. To overcome some of the hurdles, next generation tissue engineering includes a plethorum of new approaches: 3D bioprinting, smart biomaterials, self assembling cellular systems, in silico modelling,…
The symposium will also include the launch of GATE (Gent Alliance for Tissue Engineering) and the VZW Belgian Society for Tissue Engineering.
