Up-to date strategies for the correct implementation and for monitoring the intensity ingredient of the 'exercise pill'.

This lecture is part of the Interdisciplinary Medical & Health Seminars.

Guest speaker: Prof. Silvia Pogliaghi (Department of Neurosciences, Biomedicine and Movement Sciences, University of Verona)

In this lecture, prof. Silvia Pogliaghi will provide an updated, research-informed framework on the concept of exercise intensity, reinforce why this is important in the context of exercise prescription and provide up-to date strategies for the correct implementation and monitoring the intensity ingredient of the “exercise pill”. While the practical implementation of Frequency, Type and Time is straightforward, the Intensity ingredient of the “exercise pill” remains challenging, to the detriment of our understanding of the dose-response relationship of training interventions.
