Cinéssential organizes film screenings followed by a debate with experts, now with the screening of the French movie 'Les Misérables'.

Cinéssential is an interfaculty film club at Ghent University, founded by the research centers Ghent Rolin-Jaequemyns International Law Institute (GRILI), the Centre for Cinema and Media Studies (CIMS), and the Ghent Institute for International & European Studies (GIES). Cinéssential organizes film screenings followed by a debate with experts, mainly coming from Ghent University.

Cinéssential is pleased to announce its second screening with the French film LES MISÉRABLES. The film will be introduced by Dr. Eduard Cuelenaere (CIMS), and followed by a panel debate with Dra. Isabo Goormans (UGent IRCP – expert on violence by and against police officers), Prof. Koen Bogaert (UGent Conflict & Development Studies – expert on urban development and processes of gentrification), and Prof. Frederik Dhondt (VUB CORE – expert on French history and politics) (free entrance).

The debate will also reflect upon the French presidential elections.
