Meet the Experts-lectures by Prof Matias Kagias and Prof Markus Strobl on neutron and X-ray imaging with an emphasis on dark-field imaging, a novel modality to see beyond the resolution of the imaging system.

In many research fields, 3D imaging is a key method to investigate materials or objects. Traditional imaging methods using penetrating radiation (X-rays, neutrons) depend on the measurement of the attenuation of the radiation.

In recent years, other imaging modalities have been thoroughly investigated and are rapidly gaining importance in the research landscape. Particularly dark-field imaging, which highlights microstructures and thus enables to obtain information about the sample beyond the spatial resolution of the images.

During this event, two leading scientists in this field will present the theory, instrumentation and applications of this technique, both in X-ray and neutron regimes.
