Committee on Human Rights Policy and Dual-Use Research

Functioning

The Committee on Human Rights Policy and Dual-Use Research meets every month and, among other things, provides advise on possible collaborations. In some cases, the Committee invites the person seeking advice or an expert to further discuss the dossier. In case of urgency, the Chair of the Committee may consults with the members electronically.

The Committee shall respond to questions from staff within two weeks, regardless of the type of agreement. Within this period, the staff member will know whether a more in-depth investigation is necessary.

The Committee is composed in such a way that it is representative of the entire Ghent University community, as well as having the necessary expertise on human rights and dual-use research.
