Use thermostatic valves correctly

Too warm? Turn down the radiator valve!

Nearly all the radiators in our buildings are equipped with thermostatic radiator valves. This means that the radiator will no longer provide heat when the requested temperature is reached, unless it is set to 5.

A certain position of the tap stands for a certain temperature:

  • Mode 5 does not heat up the room more quickly, but does not give a signal that the desired temperature has been reached. So this mode allows the room to heat up to 28°C.
  • A central heating control automatically switches to the night or weekend regime; the thermostatic valve has no influence on this.
  • It is best to leave the radiator valves at your workplace on mode 3, so that the room is heated to approximately 20°C.
