22 Ghent University researchers are awarded the prestigious title of Highly Cited Researcher

Clarivate Analytics (formerly known as Thomson Reuters) started compiling this exclusive list in 2001, based on the highest number of top publications. To receive this recognition, a researcher needs to have a major impact on the work of fellow scientists.

This year, interdisciplinarity is also rewarded in the brand-new Cross-field category. The following Ghent University researchers are acknowledged as Highly Cited Researchers for the first time: Nico Boon, Stefaan De Smedt, Dries Van Thourhout and Peter Vandenabeele. Last year, Klaas Vandepoele was also included in the field of Plant & Animal Science.
