Prof. Guido Van Huylenbroeck recognised as EAAE Fellow

(18-11-2020) Prof. Guido Van Huylenbroeck has been recognized as a Fellow of the European Association of Agricultural Economists (EAAE). He received this award following a nomination by the Belgian Association of Agricultural Economics (BVLE).

The EAAE Fellow Awards programme lauds his professional excellence in agricultural economics, his achievements in education on agricultural economics and rural development, and his outstanding contributions to the advancement of agricultural economics in Europe. He has pioneered academic research on multifunctional agriculture, institutional economics and alternative farm income models. At the international academic education level, he is recognized as the founder of the Erasmus Mundus International Master in Rural Development.

Services to society include outstanding services to the BVLE and EAAE throughout a 12-year EAAE board membership, assuming the role of treasurer. Only 20 agricultural economists have received this highly selective award thus far. The official award ceremony is part of the triannual EAAE congress which was originally scheduled at the end of August 2020 in Prague but has been postponed to the Summer of 2021. Guido is affiliated with the Department of Agricultural Economics and Academic Director for Internationalisation at Ghent University.
