Update corona: guidelines Ghent University

(18-03-2020) Yesterday, the government announced new recommendations to limit as much as possible any further spread of the coronavirus COVID-19.

Ghent University will not cease its educational activities, but will switch to remote teaching.

Ghent University staff and students will receive updated guidelines shortly.

From Monday 16 March 2020 onwards, all lessons and practicals are organised remotely. Teaching activities that cannot be organised remotely are suspended until 19 April 2020. Consequently, students shall no longer come to the Ghent University premises for educational activities or educational guidance until 19 April 2020.

Via UFORA, the lecturers inform the students by Sunday 15 March 2020 at the latest about the way in which educational activities will be offered. In the course of the following days and weeks, the concrete details will be further developed and will always be communicated via UFORA.

Ghent University hopes that after the Easter break all regular educational activities can be restarted. If this is not the case, you will receive a message  no later than Wednesday 15 April 2020.

These measures are taken in the framework of the current corona issues and are valid until April 19th 2020 (end of Easter break).

Ghent University continues to monitor the situation closely. Updated policy information and the Ghent University guidelines in the framework of the current corona issues can be found at www.ugent.be/en/coronavirus. Ghent University counts upon the cooperation of everyone to keep the impact of the corona issues as small as possible.
