Job description

Research project

The Ph.D. student will be enrolled in a new research project where the combination of distinct noninvasive brain stimulation techniques will be tested to maximize the required changes in brain activity. In this project, a multi-method neurocognitive experimental approach will be used, integrating cognitive and psychophysiological measures in the context of stress.

We are looking for a highly motivated applicant. The successful candidate has a master degree in Psychology, and has a strong affinity with experimental psychopathology research.

Extra requirements

  •  Good knowledge of statistical analysis (R-package and SPSS)
  •   Being acquainted with psychophysiology measurements (Heart Rate Variability, Skin Conductance, cortisol)
  •   Being acquainted with e-prime
  •   Experience with neurostimulation (transcranial Direct Current Stimulation, transcranial magnetic stimulation, transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulation)
  •   Experience with stress paradigms
  •   Proficiency in Matlab programming

Conditions

The project starts September 1st 2019. It is an assignment for a period of 3 years. After the first year, there will be an evaluation regarding the prospects of successful completion of the Ph.D. project within the next two years. We offer a dynamic, stimulating and supportive research environment. Scholarship: +/- €24.000 net/year (all included).
