Job description

The Department of Accounting, Corporate Finance and Taxation (EB22) is looking for highly motivated candidates who wish to write a PhD in corporate taxation. More specifically, we would like to propose a doctoral project on the relation between corporate social responsibility and corporate taxation. The project would include both quantitative and qualitative research methods. The precise research agenda will be decided upon jointly with your supervisor and co-supervisor.

Offer

  • We offer a full-time position as a PhD scholarship recipient, consisting of an initial period of 12 months, which - upon positive evaluation - can be extended for three more years (max. 4 years in total).
  • The Department of Accounting, Corporate Finance and Taxation offers a dynamic and pleasant working environment. The Department enjoys a strong international reputation and is part of a wide network consisting of other universities, companies and institutions. The student will be able to further develop skills through additional PhD courses, seminars, and international conferences.
  • The contract can start on October 1, 2019 at the earliest.

Profile of the candidate

  • You hold a degree of Master in Taxation, Business Economics, (Applied) Economics, Business Engineering or Business Administration.- You have excellent qualifications at bachelor and master level.
  • You have a high level of proficiency in English sufficient to communicate effectively with colleagues.
  • You are prepared to work in Ghent (Belgium).
  • Having excellent statistical skills are considered an asset.
