Job description

YOUR TASKS

- Your primary objective would be a focused research project. The topic of your research will be phylogenetics of pawpaw and related species (Asimina, Annonaceae) and the evolution of floral characters. The project will involve field studies in the USA in collaboration with the US supervisor, focusing on tissue collection and pollinator observation. The phylogenetics of Asimina will involve targeted enrichment of nuclear loci and coalescence-based analyses.

- You will assist in the supervision of master and PhD students working on similar topics.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

- You hold a PhD degree in systematic and evolutionary botany or a similar relevant field.

- You are passionate about applying novel approaches to the integration of phylogenetics and organismal traits

- You have a range of skills, ranging from fieldwork to laboratory work and bioinformatics.

- You have a competitive publication record and a passion for science writing.
