Job description

- You will work in an international project: the IMPRODISE project is an EU-funded EIT-Health project on training health professionals and educators to improve diversity sensitivity in healthcare. The project is in collaboration with the Universities of Copenhagen and Heidelberg.

- You will prepare an interactive train-the-trainers module on “diversity in health(care)” for medical teachers, based on state-of-the art international scientific knowledge and models. This module should focus on theoretical backgrounds on the topic of diversity, as well as on how to apply these in medical education.

- You will organize and implement the module by giving workshops for medical teachers at the faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Ghent University. Part of the module will consist of an online interactive course.

- You will prepare and implement an evaluation of the module

Profile of the candidate

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• You hold a Master’s degree in medicine, psychology, nursing or social work. For diplomas awarded outside the European Union, a certificate of equivalence (NARIC) must be submitted. The degree requirements need to be fulfilled at the start of your appointment.

•You are interested in academic and/or project-based research and services.

• Any teaching experience in general and in diversity topics specifically, or participation in extra training, conferences, etc. would be an advantage.

• You have excellent teaching and communication skills.

• You are/have been working as care-provider and have ample experience in provider-patient interactions so this professional experience contributes to your ability to empathize and interact with the participants on the topic. Experience with working for vulnerable population groups is considered an advantage.

• You have a special interest in diversity in health(care) and in applying this in medical education

• You are interested in an interdisciplinary approach.

• You have an excellent knowledge of Dutch

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

• We offer you an appointment for the duration of the project (31/12/2020)

• We offer a 0,2 FTE, with a possibility to expand to 0,3 FTE

• The work schedule is flexible and subject to discussion

• The appointment will start on 1 February 2020 at the earliest
