Bruno De Geest studied chemical engineering at Ghent University and obtained his master degree in 2003. In 2006 he obtained his PhD entitled ‘Polyelectrolyte Microcapsules for Pharmaceutical Applications’ at the Laboratory of General Biochemistry and Physical Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Ghent University. Between November 2006 and October 2008 he worked as a post doctoral fellow at Utrecht University – Department of Pharmaceutics. From October 2008 he was appointed as FWO post doc at the Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Technology, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Ghent University. His main expertise is the use of polyelectrolyte multilayer films for biomedical applications.
